Project Overview

 

A fintech provider was scaling its digital onboarding platform, which relied on integrations with multiple identity, credit, and fraud verification services. As variations and undocumented logic began to impact delivery and compliance, I led a product alignment initiative to clarify workflows, standardize rules, and ensure cross-team understanding of regulatory requirements.

The Challenge

  • Integration logic across third-party services (Onfido, Equifax, TransUnion, EnStream) was inconsistent and undocumented

  • Tenants had different onboarding configurations with no centralized view

  • Developers lacked clarity on business rules, leading to misinterpretation and rework

  • Compliance teams needed transparency into how identity and credit results were processed and retained

The Approach

  • Mapped out end-to-end onboarding workflows, identifying key decisions, data dependencies, and partner interactions

  • Created a structured SharePoint knowledge base to track third-party service use by each tenant

  • Collaborated with product owners and solution architects to clarify expected logic, support UAT, and prepare release documentation

  • Ensured that product decisions aligned with legal obligations and operational needs
